Glynn Smith is the president and owner of Ethereal Yachts, a company he founded in 2021. Hailing from Southampton, England, Glynn grew up sailing
on the Solent and served as an RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor. At the age of 19, he moved to Italy to work as a mate on a private classic sailing yacht, quickly ascending to the role of captain by 23. Glynn’s passion for sailing transformed into a dedicated career in yachting, ultimately leading him into the super yacht market.
With extensive worldwide experience, Glynn has sailed to all seven continents.He transitioned to superyachts, operating vessels up to 200 feet (60 meters) in premier charter destinations, including the Mediterranean, Bahamas, Caribbean, US, and Central America. Additionally, he spent two years sailing in Australia and the Pacific Islands. As a fully qualified MCA 3000-ton superyacht captain, Glynn has successfully navigated 14 Mediterranean an eight Caribbean charter seasons on high-profile yachts, consistently delivering exceptional service to clients.
With 32 years of experience in the yachting industry, Glynn possesses an in- depth understanding of yacht operations. His expertise encompasses sales, new construction, and charter services, during which he has facilitated the sale and construction of some of the largest and most luxurious yachts in the world, ranging from 15 to 90 meters (40 to 300 feet). Glynn excels at guiding clients through the purchasing process while enhancing the nuanced experience of yacht ownership.
Throughout his extensive career and tens of thousands of miles at sea, Glynn has developed strong partnerships with experts in yacht management, design, project management, and maritime law, ensuring that his clients receive unparalleled service.
In his free time, Glynn cherishes quality moments with his son, sharing interests in Muay Thai, cycling, golf, and hunting.
